During our recent road trip through Oregon, we made a stop at the majestic Mount Hood, a place that never fails to leave me in awe. There’s something magical about the alpine bloom up there; a vibrant tapestry of colours against the rugged landscape.
I wanted to capture that beauty in a way that felt personal, so I set my alarm for 5:25am, determined to catch the sunrise over this stunning scene. As the first light crept over the horizon, I found myself surrounded by nature’s splendour. It was the perfect moment for a self-portrait session, with the blooms framing the shot and the mountain standing tall in the background.
The early start was totally worth it. There’s something about being out there, in the quiet of dawn, that makes you feel connected to the world in a profound way. This was a reminder that sometimes, the most beautiful experiences require a little extra effort—but the rewards are beyond words.
